Richard Kennedy      Geraldine Cleary

Richard Kennedy B.A.  L.L.B.  F.C.I.Arb., principal of the firm, comes from a family with a distinguished legal background, and since qualifying as a Solicitor in 1980 has worked in Private Practice in Birr. He specialized in Litigation and Court work for almost 15 years and since then has moved into areas of general Practice with an emphasis on Commercial and Business Law.

In 1998 Richard became interested in Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution and during that year undertook a course of study in Arbitration organized by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Following on that course of Study and assessment he was admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in March 1999.

As a result of his experience and involvement in Litigation he has come to believe that Arbitration and Mediation can be, particularly in the area of Commercial Law, more suitable and efficient methods of resolving disputes than Litigation and in consequence he has recently completed a Training course on Mediation Accredited by The Mediators Institute of Ireland and The Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) USA.
